Our Christmas Turkeys

We raised a flock of Ridley Bronze turkeys in 2012 and provided our customers with Thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys. Some feedback …
“Merry Christmas and thank you for the amazing turkey!  It had everyone raving last night at dinner.  We brined ours overnight and it worked very well, giving us moist and tender meat all over.  We also cooked it upside down and then flipped it over half way.  The dark and white meat arrived at their appropriate temperatures at the same time.  We are presently making what we anticipate will be fabulous stock for soup out of the carcass.
Thanks for all the wonderful meat this year.  We’ve enjoyed every morsel.  We are already looking forward to signing up for another farm share this year. We wish you all the best for 2013!”

WWOOFERS are travellers from all over the world who go from farm to farm, learning about different farming methods and about different cultures. Joy (from Taiwan) and Ayami (from Japan) are feeding the turkeys and pigs each day. And getting used to the Canadian cold.
