Thanks to the drought of 2012 and the resulting decline in the number of beef cattle, prices for beef have been climbing steadily for the past few months. As a result, my CSA beef has increased in price by 15%. For anyone who joins the CSA from this date forward, the cost will reflect this increase.
Now….about the price of gas…just kidding.

Community Shared (or Supported) Agriculture is an approach to growing and purchasing food products in which the farmer and consumer are working cooperatively. The customer enters into an agreement of purchase with the farmer prior to the start of the season. The farmer gains a guaranteed market; the consumer gains high quality food.
Pastured pork, beef and chicken. Full shares and half shares available.
For details, please visit the CSA page and the pricing details.
Pork is truly a comfort food for a cold winter day.

CTV Regional Contact at Upper Canada Heritage Farm
Joel Haslam of CTV’s Regional Contact spent some quality time with the pigs here in October. The episode aired November 10, 2013. I believe that Joel captured the essence of what I’m trying to accomplish – raising animals for food with respect and gratitude. Yes, our food can live a happy life!
