These piglets are ready to be weaned. Unlike an industrial farm operation that weans piglets and removes them from their mother at only three weeks of age so that the sow can quickly be re-bred, we give the piglets a full six weeks to ensure they get the best start in life. We allow our sows at least one month to 'relax' before we breed them again - our sows produce two litters per year on average.
